September 2008 Flickr Upload

Well, I’m fastly approaching what I have proofed … I just finished up February 2009 this week. Maybe that is a good thing, as it will be smaller chucks done at a time now.  I think I only spend 30 minutes or so doing all of this each day I do it, but it’s probably closer to 1 hour or more.

006 is doing VERY well after his tonsillectomy, I have just been amazed at how much more quickly he has recovered compared to when 009 had it done at 4.  Thanks for all the thoughts & prayers.  We went down Thursday night & I stayed at a hotel.  Which didn’t have wi-fi…weird, I know.  So I proofed photos instead.  Probably a much more productive use of my time than facebook anyway…. ;)

Here’s the stream  http://www.flickr.com/photos/81154606@N00/

Here are my faves from the upoad….

Harvest time on the way to work.  Loved the sunlight, loved the colors.  It was such a cool, crisp day…

After we took out the solar unit, we put in a garden for my mom.  They had this pond form for 11 years upstairs in the house.  Wow, it’s nice to get it in the groud.

Cooling off after working all day… nice!

Such incredible posture.  Wow!

Hiding under the pews at the juggling show.  Don’t know why I like it other than it is soo #005.

Awesome juggler who took stories from the Bible & set it to his juggling.  Way cool.

Me & my buddy Todd.  He used to take classes from me a million years ago. Now, he’s a million times smarter than me.

Ben & Colby on a field trip.  I was so happy I got to chaperone.

Love the eyes….

They had to pick a friend and then pick characteristics based on the letters of their name.  Love the yappy, that could be self-descriptive there…

Busses through a fence.  Not sure why I like the fence in front, but I do….

August 2008 Flickr Upload Part Deux

With the boys being gone for spring break (I got them the first ½, bob the second) I’ve been busy working on getting some pictures proofed (Jan 2009 done!) and getting some stuff uploaded to Flickr.  Really hoping to get some layouts pushed up as well.  I’ve had a couple get accepted last week to be in a Memory Maker’s book, but still waiting on the final details of that, but I’m totally excited about it!! I’ve been published on a website before, but this will be the first print publishing.

Have several projects ramped up for the weekend here around the homestead and with it being spring, we have our seeds planted for our veggie garden, just need to get it tilled.  Lots of weeds, sticks & stones in the flowerbeds, so I’m thinking of getting my little girlfriend and her friends over to help.  Maybe if I promise we’ll make something afterwards, she’d agree.  Maybe I could even get them to help over at my mom & dads!  We do need to schedule another work day over there soon, before my bro gets too busy & the weather gets too hot.

So here’s what’s on my list….

  1. Finish caulking the back door
  2. Finish caulking the mudroom windows
  3. Post some exciting stuff on my blog, catch up with where I am (mostly done!)
  4. Work on/finish my book for my trip to Germany back in ‘84
  5. Upload pictures to Flickr (done!)
  6. Proof some photos (done!)
  7. Get caught up on my email (done!)
  8. Upload some photos for submission to shutterstock
  9. Upload some LOs to my blog + websites
  10. Download some new music
  11. Work on some new product
  12. Burn 2008 pix to DVD

Might be a bit ambitious….

Here are today’s faves…..

My Great-Great Uncle Lennie.  He taught me how to play dominoes, rummy, canasta and so much just about life.  He was a stubborn old bird & I loved him.  He was the caretaker of this cemetary until my dad took it over when we were kids.  Every Saturday we’d load the lawnmowers up in the old green truck dad had, drive over there, spend the day mowing & then go home.  We sometimes got to ride in the bed of the truck.  And we survived.  He’s buried in that cemetary now.  I always thought as a kid it was creepy that he had his headstone already.  He’s buried next to his sister, he never married.

How can you not love that sweet face?

Um, yea, that’s a huge bruise on his chin.  Fell down the first week of school.  It was awful.  Looked horrible forever.  Hurt bad.  So typical 004.

Chalk drawings on mom & dad’s back porch.  Totally cool & fun.  Good way to start the day, seeing that on the way to work.

More of the bruise. Such a cutie, in for big trouble as he gets older.

During Children’s church we planted mums around the church.  I forgot to bring hand trowels so we used big serving spoons.  Still the bruise.  One of the ladies does a lot of gardening work there.  I’d really like to find a way to get the kids more involved.  Good for them, and I think she’d like the help.

That’s my little girlfriend helping 007.

This one was long, thanks for looking & reading….

Big Rocks

I promised my therapist I would bring my life inventory tomorrow.  Of course, I've had all week, and of course with it being holy week, the loss of a dear friend, and singing today, oh, the b-day thing, well....i came up with a lot of excuses why I didn't get it done.  And now it's late, and I want to row & go to bed, but I'm going to do this because it is important.  So here it goes... this is a list of what is important to me, where my priorities, energies & focus need to be.

1. God - making sure I live each day showing his love & grace; doing his work here. Being present & where he wants me to be.

2. Self - that I take good care of myself.  Eat well, sleep enough, row (I love it, it is good all-over exercise), scrap enough, play enough, nurture & care for myself.  There is only 1 of me & a lot of people depend on me.  I can't do my job if I'm not "right".  Sketch, create, journal, capture.

3. 009 & 006 - making sure I do right by them, setting a good example of how we treat others, ourselves, our planet.  Showing them how much they mean to me.  Teaching them how to be responsible, contributing members of society.  How to love God.

4. Parents/family - making sure I love & honor them.

5. Friends - spending time with them & valuing them in my life.

6. Job - gotta have it.  'nuff said

As you can see, I'm relationship oriented.  I'm sure you also notice there is a lot that I do that is not on this list.  There are some medium rocks that maybe I'll list next time.  But these are the big ones.  If these aren't firmly planted, then nothing else I do will be either.  Just like the house that is built on the sand instead of the rock.  No thank you, ma'am.

Good night,
elle
